EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — Federal investigators say two of three men accused of robbing a southern Illinois bank insist they were jobless and needed the loot to buy Christmas gifts.
Print this storyThe third suspect, 61-year-old Daniel Ravellette of Vincennes, Ind., allegedly told authorities he masterminded Saturday's robbery of the Regions Bank in Lebanon because his wife has cancer and he needed money. Ravellette, 31-year-old Donald Long of Vincennes and 23-year-old Zachary Richey of Lawrenceville are accused of robbing the bank of about $22,000. All are jailed without bail. A message seeking comment was left Wednesday with Ravellette's public defender. Long and Richey don't have listed home telephone numbers. |
