AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY

The Livingston County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary met Nov. 30 at the Legion Hall in Cornell with 35 members representing eight units.

Judy Ehlers, Cullom Unit, county president, called the meeting to order. Margaret Woltzen, Long Point Unit, county chaplain, gave the prayer and Mildred Girard, Cornell Unit president, was introduced. Girard welcomed everyone to Cornell and introduced Joanne Schrocke and her three children, Matthew, 11; Ali, 9; and Danie, 5. The children played violin solos then played together, accompanied on keyboard by their mother.

Each unit president or representative answered roll call and gave a short account of her unit's activities since the last meeting. Suzanne Lolling, Lincoln Unit, 17th District president, and Rosanne Coers, New Holland Unit, district treasurer, were introduced. Lolling presented her "School of Instructions" to the group and encouraged everyone to fly their American flag daily and vote at every election. Several units then presented Lolling with a check for the Fisher House of Illinois.

A 17th District cookbook, put together by Carolyn Tiffany, immediate past 17th District president, formerly from Pontiac and now living in Arizona, was shown to the group and is on sale throughout the district.

Mary Weers, Flanagan Unit, won the door prize. The meeting was adjourned and the Cornell Unit served lunch following the closing prayer and singing of "God Bless America."

The next meeting will be Monday, March 29, at the Cullom Legion Hall.
