Two people were taken to the hospital Tuesday after a four-vehicle traffic crash at 7:40 a.m. on Route 23, south of North 21st Road in Grand Ridge.
Print this storyThree vehicles were southbound on Route 23 when a 2001 Crown Victoria driven by Christine L. Dorsam, 33, of Streator, started sliding sideways out of control. Dorsam's vehicle spun around and struck a 2008 Cadillac SRX driven by Kimberly A. Landres, of Sheridan, who was traveling behind Dorsam. Dorsam's vehicle struck Landres' vehicle in the rear driver's side and then spun again, striking a southbound 1997 Plymouth van in the front passenger side driven by Wanita M. Cassani, 39, of Streator. Dorsam spun again, going into the northbound lane where Ottawa resident Sarah E. Bybee, 27, driving a 2001 Chevrolet, struck Dorsam in the passenger side. Dorsam was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Streator and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Bybee was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital. The La Salle County Sheriff's Office and Grand Ridge Fire Department responded to the crash. |
