  • Craig A. Breese, 50, 808 N. Everett St., was arrested Thursday at home on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving on a suspended license. He was taken to the county jail.
  • Joseph L. Filippone, 17, 103 S. Lincoln St., Ransom; Michael Brown, 18, 1002 N. Everett St., 2 males age 16, 3 males age 15 and 3 females age 15 all were cited Thursday for truancy at Streator Township High School and released with notices to appear in court.
  • Lanie M. Vaughn, 20, 1401 N. Otter Creek Road, was cited Thursday at Everett and Bronson streets for not having a front bumper on her vehicle. She was released with a court date.
  • Antonio J. Flores, 18, 225 W. 10th St., was arrested Thursday in the 900 block of East Main Street for domestic battery and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said a female entered a business in tears, said Flores was in her car and not wanted there and then locked herself in a bathroom. Flores was taken to the county jail.
  • Items were reported stolen Friday from a locked car in the 200 block of South Monroe Street.
  • A window was reported broken Friday on a car parked in the 900 block of North Shabbona Street.


La Salle County
  • Michael L. Bryant, 49, 328 N. Capelle, Monroe City, Mo., was involved in a single-vehicle accident Friday on Route 71 near East 2153rd Roadin Rutland Township. Bryant lost control of his vehicle on ice, struck a mailbox and entered a ditch. No injuries were reported.
  • Andrew S. Johnson, 23, 815 Adams St., Ottawa, was arrested Saturday following a car crash on East 2551st Road just north of U.S. 6 in Marseilles. Johnson was headed south down a hill when he struck a power pole. He was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane use and driving under the influence of drugs. No injuries were reported. He was taken to the county jail.
  • Sinita Varels, 27, 806 Monroe St., Mendota, was involved in a single-vehicle accident in Freedom Township on U.S. 52 near East 12th Road. Varela was eastbound on U.S. 52 when she lost control and drove into a cornfield. She was taken to Mendota Community Hospital with minor injuries.
  • Gloria J. Johnson-Estee, 66, 8339 S. Green St., Chicago, was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Route 71 near North 35th Roadin Miller Township. Johnson-Estee was northbound on Route 71 when she struck a deer that had run into the roadway. No injuries were reported.
