Emily Gundy, a senior at Flanagan-Cornell High School, has been named this year's recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen award.

The DAR Good Citizen award is given to a student who exemplifies the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. The faculty chose three seniors who have demonstrated these qualities. From these three students, the senior class selected one student.

Emily has entered the scholarship contest and is eligible for awards beyond the chapter level. She wrote an essay as part of the scholarship competition.

Emily is the daughter of Gary and Caroline Gundy of Flanagan. She is at the top of her class academically, is a member of National Honor Society and student council, a class officer, a participant in musical organizations and a multi-sport athlete. She also is involved in church and community activities.

The Chief Pontiac Chapter of the DAR sponsors Flanagan-Cornell High School.
