Ottawa
  • Ravi Panchal, 40, Ottawa Comfort Inn, was arrested Saturday at Walmart on a complaint of retail theft and resisting a police officer. He was released after posting $100 cash bond.
  • A juvenile male from Ottawa was arrested Sunday on a complaint of domestic battery and damage to state-supported property. He was taken to the county juvenile detention home.
  • Edgar Martinez, 22, Streator, was arrested at First Avenue and Catherine Street Sunday on complaints of driving under the influence, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to dim headlights, no insurance, no registration and no license. He was released after posting $300 cash bond.


Sheridan
  • Ashley N. Wronski, 21, of Huntley, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Sunday at Si Johnson Avenue and Legion Street on complaints of driving while license suspended and speeding. Wronski posted $100 cash bond.


Streator
  • A 16-year-old girl was arrested Saturday on a youth warrant for probation violation after she crashed the car of friend's parent into a garage on Rosemont Lane. She was taken to the county juvenile detention home, cited for curfew violation, and released to a parent.
  • Kayla A. Ryan, 19, 125 W. Elm St., was cited Saturday for possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said they responded to a report of a young person laying on the curb in the 1400 block of East Main Street. She was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment and released on a personal bond with a court date.
  • Kara E. Artman, 23, 218 S. Otter Creek St., reported Saturday a .22 caliber pistol and ammunition was stolen from her home. An investigation is pending.
  • John R. Cassidy, 53, 203 Sixth St., was arrested Saturday at Bloomington and Sixth streets on complaints of driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. A witness reported after Cassidy struck a pole he got out of his car and started walking west. He was released on a personal bond with a court date.


La Salle County
  • Two single-vehicle accidents took place Saturday in rural Tonica on North 19th Road near East Eighth Road. In one accident, Kimberly S. Maack, 33, Tonica, lost control of her car on the ice-covered roadway and ended up in a ditch. In the other accident, Lindsay R. Petersen, 26, also lost control on the ice and ended up in a ditch.
  • A single-vehicle accident was reported Sunday in Osage Township on East Sixth Road near North 1050th Road. Driver Adrian J. Shan, 17, of Lostant, lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and rolled over in a field. He was not injured.
  • Two rural Sheridan women were arrested Sunday after a domestic violence investigation and both taken to the county jail. Shanda N. Wilbur, 24, 2508 N. 3653rd Road, was arrested after allegedly striking a household member in the face. She also was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in court, one from DeKalb County for aggravated drunk driving and the second from Kendall County for battery. Also arrested was Melody Ann Wroblewski, 28, 2623 N. 3653rd Road. She was wanted on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of resisting and obstructing police after she gave a false name in an attempt to prevent arrest.
  • A single-vehicle accident was reported in Deer Park Township Sunday on County Highway 6 near East 1075th Road. A vehicle driven by Jerry M. Heider, 28, Streator, lost control on icy pavement and ended up in a ditch. He was not injured but passenger Michael K. Komsteller, 22, Streator, was taken by Grand Ridge emergency personnel for treatment of injuries.
  • Jeremy W. Scott, 30, of Tonica, was involved in a single-vehicle accident Sunday in Bruce Township on North 18th Road near East 1391st Road when he lost control on an icy road. He struck a guardrail but was uninjured.
  • Jonathan J. Przybylski, 28, Ottawa, lost control of his car Sunday while trying to avoid a deer in Fall River Township on County Highway 55 near County Highway 15. He went down an embankment, into a creek and received minor injuries.
  • Gregory R. Langheld, 32, 201 S. Main St., Dana, was arrested Sunday for damage to property after he allegedly used a chainsaw at home to destroy property of his roommate, including a bed, speakers and computer system. He was taken to the county jail.
  • After a single-vehicle accident took place Sunday in Fall River Township at East 2350th Road near County Highway 30, driver Nicholas A. Villarreal, 17, Seneca, was cited for driving without a valid license and passenger Faith A. Alsvig, 17, Ottawa, was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive. Both were taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital by the Marseilles Area Ambulance Service.


State Police
  • John R. Zenner, 20, 253 Alyssum Court, Romeoville, was arrested Sunday at Route 23 and Paul Street on complaints of driving under the influence, consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal, disobeying a stop sign, having a headlight out and improper lane use. He was taken to the county jail.
