Ottawa
  • Nichole J. Jessen, 32, 2750 Columbus St., was arrested Wednesday at her residence on a complaint of possession of a controlled substance. Jessen was taken to La Salle County Jail.
  • A 16-year-old boy was cited Wednesday in the 600 block of Division Street for possession of smoking materials by a minor. He was given a notice to appear.
  • A 15-year-old girl was cited Wednesday in the 300 block of East Main Street for possession of smoking materials by a minor. She was given a notice to appear.
  • Lola Sellers, 75, of Ottawa, and Catherine Hoffman, 43, of Sheridan, were in a two-vehicle accident at 5:16 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Norris Drive and Columbus Street. Sellers was cited for disobeying a traffic signal and Hoffman was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital.
  • Sandra E. Warner, 61, of Ottawa, struck the mirror of a parked vehicle at 7:43 a.m. in the 500 block of Eighth Street while driving a school bus for Ottawa Elementary School District. Warner struck the driver's side rear view mirror of a Ford F150 owned by Javier Espinoza with the front passenger side rear view mirror of the bus. Nine students were on the bus. No injuries reported and no citations were issued.


Streator
  • A 15-year-old girl was cited Tuesday at Streator Township High School on a complaint of battery. The victim was a 14-year-old girl. She was given a Streator court date.
LA SALLE COUNTY
  • Ernie Mitchell, 1684 N. 2501 Road, Ottawa, reported on Nov. 26 a home burglary which was thought to have occurred one or two days before that date. According to La Salle County Sheriff Tom Templeton, detectives now believe that the Mitchell family may have been in the home near the Pine Hills Golf Course when the robbery took place. Templeton said the burglary is under investigation.

Fire
  • Streator firefighters responded to an alarm at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday at 609 N. Everett St. Burnt food activated the alarm.
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at noon Wednesday at Bill Walsh Toyota, 4000 Columbus St. Employees said someone pulled the alarm pull station. The alarm was reset.
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at 11:52 a.m. at 911 W. Joliet St. It was a false alarm.
