8-40 SALON 753

8-40 Salon No. 753 met Nov. 5 at the Cabbage Patch Restaurant in Chatsworth with 12 partners and two guests, Ruth Elzinga, LeChapeau Departmental d'Illinois, and her traveling companion, Maggie DuBois of Evergreen Park. Margaret Woltzen of Long Point was in attendance.

Following lunch, chapeau Thelma Rhodes of Gibson City opened the meeting. The sunshine collection was taken, roll call was read and the minutes and treasurer's report were given and approved.

Linda Vercler of Cullom gave a brief report of the Fall Pouvoir she and several other partners attended Oct. 23 to 25 in Willowbrook.

Elzinga was introduced and gave a brief summary of her program for the year. The theme is newspapers and her special project is Asthma Adventure Camp. She also is interested in the Children and Youth program. She encouraged the Salon to be as generous as possible to this program.

Hostesses, Miriam Jackson of Piper City and Lucy Haberkorn of Chatsworth, served dessert following the meeting.
