A Rock Falls man pleaded guilty Friday in La Salle County Circuit Court on a retail theft charge, a Class 4 felony.

Repass, 45, 805 Regan Road, pleaded guilty to retail theft and was sentenced following the negotiated deposition to 24 months of conditional discharge and 180 days in county jail. He will receive 80 days credit for time previously served and was eligible for day-to-day good time consideration. Repass was arrested for attempting fraudulent returns at Ottawa's Farm and Fleet by finding discarded receipts, then locating the same merchandise within the store and returning the items for cash refunds. Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Raccuglia also ordered Repass to pay the store $129.59 in restitution and submit DNA samples to the Illinois criminal data bank. Fines and costs were waived. |
