A Sheridan man died early Sunday morning after his car hit a power pole near Sandwich.

Patrick F. Casner, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene, which was along East 29th Road and near North 44th Road in Northville Township.

The La Salle County Sheriff's Office said residents reported the collision at 2:28 a.m. Sunday. The impact caused Casner to be ejected from his car. The pole was snapped and electrical power in the area was knocked out for a time.
