We present an abbreviated schedule of this weekend's lights festivals in four La Salle County communities. OTTAWA Friday: Festival of Lights: Luminary display, 5 to 9 p.m. downtown; Reddick Mansion refreshments and tours, 6 to 8 p.m.; "Electric Parade," 6 p.m.; lighting of Christmas decorations in Washington Square, 6:30 p.m.; carriage rides in front of Reddick Mansion, after parade. Saturday: Victorian Christmas and photos at Reddick Mansion, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Christmas market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jackson Street at Washington Square; carriage rides adjacent to Santa Claus' house on Jackson Street, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Santa Claus available for visits at Jackson Street house, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday: Victorian Christmas and Prairie Singers concert at Reddick Mansion, 2 to 4 p.m.; Santa Claus available for visits at Jackson Street house, 2 to 4 p.m. STREATOR Saturday: New, unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items to help the needy accepted by members of the Screamin' Eagles motorcycle club; City Park; Light Up Streator Marketplace, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Park Church annex; nativity lighting in the Eagles Corner at Main and Bloomington streets 4:30 p.m.; announcement of winners of the Light Up Streator raffle, 6:25 p.m.; Light Up Streator lighting ceremony, 6:30 p.m., City Park; Weber House and Garden Family Christmas, 1503 Baker St. following lighting ceremony; Santa Claus available for visits at his house in City Park, following lighting ceremony. UTICA Sunday: "Christmas In The Village," 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at community building, featuring free visits by and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.; barbershop quartet, carriage rides, chili-tasting contest, refreshments, children's activities; tree-lighting ceremony, 5:30 p.m.; storytelling by Bill Myers, 1 p.m., Port St. Louis de Illinois Visitor Center. WENONA Friday: Light Up Wenona, 5 to 8 p.m. downtown: carolers strolling on downtown streets; Santa Claus arrives at uptown pavilion, 6 p.m.; ornament making, 6 to 8 p.m.; scavenger hunt at participating businesses; Christmas raffle winners announced, 8 p.m., city building. |
