An Odell man pleaded guilty to armed robbery of an Ottawa South Side gas station and was sentenced to 10 years in the Department of Corrections Friday in a La Salle County courtroom.
Print this storyIn a negotiated plea agreement with county prosecutors, David D. Boyd, 208 S. Morgan St., admitted he robbed a BP Amoco station employee of an undisclosed amount of money and assorted merchandise on the night of Sept. 9. The deposition was sanctioned by Circuit Court Judge H. Chris Ryan, Jr. Ottawa police reported when arrested, Boyd, 20, was found with a knife on his person but later determined it was not displayed or implied he was carrying it during the holdup. Earlier Friday, two other persons, Jason Schenherr of Marseilles and Jennifer L. Colman of Odell, pleaded guilty to charges of obstructing justice for lying to investigators to conceal Boyd's identity and participation in the crime. Schenherr was sentenced to two and a half years in prison while Odell was handed 30 months of probation and to serve ten weekends in county jail. |
