Lainee R. Hallowell was ordered to prison Thursday in the La Salle County courtroom of Circuit Judge Cynthia Raccuglia for retail theft, Class 2 felony.

Hallowell, 27, 703 Wilson St., entered into a guilty plea agreement with county prosecutors for stealing more than $400 worth of household items from Streator's Kmart on Sept. 16.

Raccuglia sanctioned the state's negotiated deposition and sentenced Hallowell to two years in the Department of Corrections for the Class 2 felony. The defendant was facing three to seven years in a state penitentiary and fines up to $25,000.

Hallowell's La Salle County criminal record includes several possession of controlled substance and retail theft convictions.
