Grand Ridge village offices are going to be moved in January.
Print this storyAt Tuesday's village board meeting, the trustees agreed to lease offices, including space for police, at 130 W. Main St. for $500 per month from Kevin Rockey of Ottawa. The building formerly housed an insurance agency. The board has the option to buy the building after a year. "If we're comfortable there, we might stay," said Mayor Kay Hines. Moving will begin after Friday, Jan. 1. The old Village Hall along Railroad Avenue is to be torn down to make way for the likely construction of a federally ordered water treatment plant. For several months, the board has had monthly meetings at the Farm Ridge Township Hall in Grand Ridge. |
