Q:Are there any free H1N1 vaccination clinics in Livingston County?

A: The Livingston County Health Department will offer free H1N1 influenza vaccines for eligible priority groups from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the health department, 310 E. Torrance Ave., Pontiac. Priority groups eligible to receive vaccine at these clinics include pregnant women, children and young adults ages 6 months through 24 years, adults ages 25 through 64 with a chronic health condition or lowered immunity, household members and caregivers of children less than 6 months of age, health care workers and EMS providers with direct patient contact.

Adults and children age 10 and older will need only one dose of vaccine. Children ages 6 months through 9 years will need two doses, with the second dose given at least 21 days after the first.

The health department expects to receive weekly shipments of vaccine. Future clinic dates and times will be announced as additional vaccine is received and priority groups are expanded.
