Ottawa
  • Kristen N. Belden, 20, 900 Paul St., Apt. 607, was arrested Wednesday near La Salle and West Madison streets on an original warrant for forgery. She was taken to La Salle County Jail.
  • A 10-year-old boy from Ottawa was charged Wednesday in the 1200 block of Kansas Street with two counts of domestic battery.
  • A 14-year-old girl from Earlville was charged with retail theft Wednesday at Wal-Mart, 4041 Veterans Drive.
  • Crystal Hammer, 24, 825½ W. Washington St., was arrested on a complaint of retail theft Wednesday at Wal-Mart, 4041 Veterans Drive.


La Salle County
  • Justin L. Fredrick, 20, 105 S. Dwight St., Sheridan, was in a single-vehicle accident at 5:12 p.m. Monday, when he lost control of the motorcycle while driving on North 42nd Road near Route 23, about 4¼ miles southwest of Leland. He was charged with speeding 80 mph in a 55-mph zone, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.


DeKalb County
  • Glen D. Absher, 38, 60 Chicago Road, Earlville, was arrested Thursday at Route 23 and Elva Road on complaints of driving while license revoked, expired registration and unlawful use of registration. He was taken to DeKalb County Jail.


Sandwich
  • Vanessa L. Stevens, age not provided, 563 A. Mallard Circle, was cited Wednesday for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop. She was released on bond.


Fire
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at 6:47 a.m. Wednesday and 4:52 a.m. Thursday at 1380 N. 27th Road. Nothing was found.
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at 12:58 a.m. Thursday at Dougherty Manor, 900 Paul St. Cooking odors and a light haze activated the alarm.
