Both the Ottawa YMCA Dolphins and the Illinois Valley YMCA Dolphins took part in a three-team meet Saturday in Peru.

The Ottawa Dolphins had four swimmers who claimed three victories, including two that had state times in each event.

Samuel Rappeport won the boys 15-21 200-yard freestyle in a new team record time of 1 minute, 52.91 seconds. His first-place time of 22.87 secondsin the 50 freestyle was four-tenths away from a national cut. He also dropped 2.16 seconds from his 100 butterfly and took first in 57.45 seconds.

Jill Bottarini had three victories a the girls 11-12 level. She won the 100 freestyle in 1:00.12 and the 50 breaststroke in 34.91 seconds. She then dropped 2.17 seconds to win the 200 individual medley in 2:35.30. All three times were state cuts.

Elsewhere at that level, Emily Hines took second in the 50 backstroke with a time of 36.87 seconds. The 200 medley relay unit of Hines, Jenna Jodts, Abigail Dominis and Jill Bottarini was second in 2:28.14.

Allison Borkowski claimed three victories a the girls 9-10 level, including a time of 1:27.00 in the 100 individual medley. She won the 50 butterfly in 43.94 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 1:14.71.

At the same level, Elle Goetz won the 50 breaststroke in 42.28 seconds. She also was second in the 100 individual medley (1:30.05).

The 200 freestyle relay quartet of Tabatha Maslanka, Sloan Gayan, Natalie Rodeghier and Mallory Pistick finished first in 2:29.31. The 200 medley relay team of Julie Bottarini, Goetz, Cara Murphy and Borkowski placed first in 2:30.85. That time also was a state-qualifying time.

Julie Bottarini used a time of 33.71 seconds to finish second in the 50 freestyle. Pitstick was second in the 50 breaststroke after touching the wall in 44.40 seconds.

Adam Hines won the boys 13-14 100 freestyle in 59.17 seconds. He also claimed the 500 freestyle in 5:49.64 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.18.

Joel Bottarini won the boys 11-12 100 freestyle in 1:05.40 and the 200 individual medley in 2:49.40. He also claimed a second-place time of 34.34 seconds in the 50 butterfly.

At the same age level, T.J. LeSeure won the 50 breastroke in 39.22 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 2:27.78. LeSeure also claimed a second-place clocking of 1:05.72 in the 100 freestyle.

The 200 medley relay tandem of Max Finn, T.J. LeSeure, Joel Bottarini and Chad Vesely finished first and produced a state-qualifying time in 2:21.41. The 200 freestyle relay team of Quinn Gray, Vesely, Jordan Ovanic and Finn took second in 2:13.90.

Individually, Finn was second in the 50 freestyle (30.33 seconds) and Vesely was second in the 50 breaststroke (41.74 seconds).

At the boys 9-10 level, Jordan Ovanic took the 100 freestyle in 1:16.58. He added a first-place time of 42.63 seconds in the 50 butterfly while placing second in the 100 individual medley (1:30.39).

Quinn Gray was second in three events, including the 50 freestyle (35.60 seconds), the 100 freestyle (1:20.29) and the 50 backstroke (41.87 seconds).

Katy Gealow won the girls 15-21 200 freestyle after touching the wall in 2:25.58. Gealow also had a top performance in the 500 freestyle (6:34.13). The 200 medley relay team of Samantha Dominis, Lauren Vesely, Katy Gealow and Monica Soulsby took second in 2:49.38.

At the girls 13-14 level, Kendra Norman won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:10.87. She also was second in the 200 individual medley (3:03.36).

The 200 freestyle relay quartet of Monica Soulsby, Lindsey Kalis, Miah Froisland and Anna Schmidt finished second in 2:35.66. The 200 medley relay team of Norman, Joanna Kalis, Froisland and Lindsey Kalis also took second (2:34.04).

Jacob Ovanic claimed the boys 8-and-under 25 breaststroke after touching the wall in 23.30 seconds, which also was a state cut. He was second in the 100 individual medley (1:54.87). Teammate Zach Nelson produced a second-place time of 43.40 seconds in the 50 freestyle.

The 100 medley relay team of Zach nelson, Jacob Ovanic, Sam McQuen and Zak Maslanka had a state-qualifying time of 1:35.75.

Chloe Cottingham used a time of 52.17 seconds to take second in the girls 8-and-under 50 freestyle. The 100 freestyle relay unit of Hannah Prater, Antonio Froisland, Mackenzie Olson and Chloe Skaggs took second in 1:43.35. Also, the 100 medley relay team of Olson, Cottingham, Antonia Froisland and Skaggs placed second in 1:56.06.

At the boys 6-and-under level, Ryan Nelson took second in the 25 freestyle (22.63 seconds) and the 25 backstroke (30.80 seconds).

Illinois Valley results

For the Illinois Valley YMCA Dolphins, Ottawa resident Noah Dean had three victories, all of which were state times. He won the boys 8-and-under 100 individual medley in 1:31.91 and the 50 freestyle in 35.15 seconds. He also claimed the 25 backstroke in 18.74 seconds.

Dean also took part in a 100 medley relay team that also produced a state-qualifying time. The unit of Dean, Andrew Horn, Luke Veronda and Zachary Liebhart finished in 1:21.24.

The girls 8-and-under 100 freestyle relay team of Madison Aimone, Nicole Pocivasek, Kamyrn Olson and Samantha Satterfield claimed a state time of 1:15.71. Individually at the same level, Satterfield was third in the 100 individual medley with a clocking of 2:08.39.
