OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College had a solid start to the season with an 88-70 win over the St. Ambrose University JV squad on Thursday.

The Eagles led 47-33 at halftime then scored 41 points in the second half to secure the win. Matt Sturdivant led IVCC with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Korby Kasperski contributed 16 points.

Marquette product Tanner Bland had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. He was 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
