OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Community College volleyball team earned a 22-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 win over Elgin Community College in the first round of the NJCAA Region Tournament on Wednesday.

La Salle-Peru graduate Riley Gapinski led the Lady Eagles with 20 service points (two aces) and nine digs. Fieldcrest product Kayla Conroy added nine points, including three aces, and 17 digs. Ottawa's Randi Toynton produced six points and 41 assists.

Fellow former Lady Pirate Mandy Towne had 11 kills and nine digs. Woodland alum Tori Pflibsen had 10 kills.

IVCC is now 16-21 overall on the season.
