A ballot position lottery for the only contested race in the La Salle County Board Tuesday, Feb. 2, general primary election gave first place to District 2 Republican Joanne McNally over incumbent Republican Stephen Carlson, both of Mendota.

The lottery was conducted Wednesday at the office of La Salle County Clerk JoAnn Carretto. Both candidates filed at 8 a.m. Oct. 26.
