OTTAWA SUNRISE ROTARY

The Sunrise Rotary Club met at Ottawa Regional Hospital Oct. 30 with Vice President Julie Fisher presiding. Guests included Don Lockas from the Marseilles Rotary Club and Dr. David Manigold speaker.

Manigold, who is president of the Ottawa Community Concert Association, spoke about the history of the concert association, which was formed in the 1920s, the first local concert was in 1947 and 122 concerts have been presented since. After World War II, the concert association grew as the desire to have access to live concerts increased. There currently are four concerts per year in Ottawa and some in surrounding communities. Generally the programs are at Ottawa Township High School and the annual cost for a family ticket is $75. The club was given a sample of the various types of music available and tickets are available through any board member.
