Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering two grants to young women planning to study or studying in the field of education.
Print this storyThe Omicron Recruitment Grant for $775 is available to a high school senior currently attending a high school in Grundy, La Salle or Putnam counties. The applicant must be planning to enter the field of education at an accredited college or university in Illinois and rank in the upper 25 percent of her high school graduating class with a recommended GPA of 3.5 or more. The application is due to Omicron Chapter by Saturday, Jan. 2. The winner of this local grant will have her application submitted to (Illinois) Lambda State where she will compete for an additional $750 state grant. She must have graduated from a high school in Grundy, La Salle or Putnam counties. Criteria for selection will be based on academic achievements, awards, activities and career goals. Applications are due to Omicron Chapter by Jan. 2. The winner of this local grant will have her application submitted to (Illinois) Lambda State where she will compete for an additional $2,000 state grant.
