Several members of The Starved Rock Model "A" Club recently drove their "A"s" to Oregon, Ill., to cruise the Rock River and enjoy the fall colors aboard the paddlewheeler, the Spirit of Oregon. They enjoyed a buffet brunch along with banjo music as they cruised.

Attending were Coonie and Gladys Alleman of Tonica; Ralph and Barbara Bowermaster, Roger and Judy Hooper, Don and Joanne Jones, Steve and Geline Marshall and John and Joyce Timmons, all of Ottawa; Paul and Lynn Furar of LaMoille; Lee and Juanita Garrett of Streator; and Joe Schott and Bob Turner of La Salle. They were joined on the cruise by members of the Peoria Fourever Four"s Model "A" Club.

On the way home club members stopped in Franklin Grove at the national headquarters of the Lincoln Highway Association. The Association is housed in a building built in 1860 by H.I. Lincoln, a cousin of Abraham Lincoln. For information about the Starved Rock Club, call President Roger Hooper at 434-1324 or e-mail rwhoopie@yahoo.com.
