ButterBurgers will soon be sizzling in Ottawa.
Print this storyMayor Robert Eschbach said Tuesday construction of a Culver's franchise restaurant is set to begin in December, with an opening in late spring, at the northeast corner of Route 23 and Etna Road near the Fairfield Inn, which is under construction. Eschbach said he believes the Culver's will be a "good complement to the new hotel." The Culver's nearest to Ottawa is along Route 251 in Peru. Other nearby Culver's restaurants are in Morris and Yorkville. The restaurant is known for its signature sandwich, the ButterBurger. The Culver's planned for Ottawa will have a drive-up window, dine-in and outdoor seating and take-out service. There are 409 Culver's restaurants in 17 states. The first one was opened in 1984 in Sauk City, Wis. The Fairfield Inn is set to open Thursday, July 1. The Peru-based developers have said they plan to attract another restaurant and another undetermined type of business to the location. Dairy Queen has also said a restaurant is in the works for the corner. |
