NO TOWNSHIP UNIT
Print this storyNo Township Unit of Home and Community Education met Oct. 27 at Duffy's Tavern in Utica for lunch. Jean Connors and Joanne Mattes made arrangements. Mattes led a short business meeting and discussed the work for "Support our Soldiers" and the need for help with packing at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. The club donates articles for the soldiers to this group. Blanket Day will be Thursday, Nov. 12, at Grand Ridge Methodist Church. Karen Mattes is in charge of making blankets. The group toured the La Salle County Historical Museum after lunch. Monica Blue was the guide and gave a presentation. Members then went to the Aitken Rural Schoolhouse where Luccille Werner discussed the school including rules, studies and students. Blue and Lucy Wise assisted. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the home of Joanne Mattes. Connors and Carol Link will host and Marge Johnson will give the lesson on organic food. |
