An Oglesby man apparently fell to his death Wednesday morning at the La Salle Cement Co. plant.

Peter J. Lesmeister, 55, was pronounced dead shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday in the emergency room at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, said La Salle County Coroner Jody Bernard. A report on the autopsy results is pending. Bernard said Lesmeister appeared to have fallen.

La Salle Fire Department Chief Andy Bacidore said Lesmeister had been on a balcony. The fire department received the call to respond to the cement plant at 8:24 a.m. that day.
