LONG POINT AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY

Long Point American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1217 met Oct. 19 at the Legion Hall with 13 members. Marna Tullis, president, conducted opening ceremonies.

Minutes were read and approved and Margaret Woltzen gave the treasurer's report. Membership dues are still being collected. Communications included notice of the 4th Division meeting Sunday, Nov. 15, in Heyworth.

Donations were made to a bakeless baked sale for the 17th District and to Fisher House in honor of Suzann Lolling of Lincoln, 17th District president. Donations also were made to the following funds: Americanism, Spirit of Youth, Auxiliary Emergency Fund, Children and Youth, Miracle Network, scholarship, education, Six Point Program, Gifts to Yanks and postage stamps.

There will be a bingo party at the La Salle Veterans Home Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Chaplain Arlene Martell closed the meeting with a prayer and the group sang the state song, "Illinois."

Carol Kaminke served lunch.
