Alma R. (Boe) Osthus of Ottawa will celebrate her 100th birthday. She was born Nov. 8, 1909, in Ottawa, the daughter of Hans and Tillie Boe. She married Jesse T. Osthus on Jan. 31, 1931. He passed away.

Alma has five children, Wesley (Dorothy) Osthus of Clinton, Jesse (Ruth) Osthus of Garden Grove, Calif., Jonathan (Linda) Osthus of Ottawa and the late Richard and Robert Osthus. She has seven grandchildren, Gregory (Olga) Osthus of Garden Grove, Jeffery (Hallie) Osthus of Huntington, Calif., John of Manchester, Mo., Susan Osthus of Chatham, Steven (Rachel) Osthus of Washington, Ill., Julie (Mark) Jenkins of Peru and Kristi (Phillip) Corbell of Boston. She also has 14 great-grandchildren.

Alma enjoys reading and flower gardening. She will be the guest of honor from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Cards may be sent to Alma at Heritage Woods, 801 E. Etna Road, Apt. 179, Ottawa, IL 61350.
