A Streator man was charged Tuesday in La Salle County Circuit Court in connection with a rollover last week. The crash resulted in the death of a Grand Ridge man.

Robert E. Sharisky, 151 Sharon Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He is set for a court hearing Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Associate Judge William Balestri's courtroom.

Sharisky was driving a 1955 Chevrolet at 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, on North 2053rd Road, about four miles west of Grand Ridge, with three passengers, including 25-year-old Michael J. Klein in the front seat. The car went over a rise in the road, went out of control, entered a ditch, hit a culvert and flipped several times. Klein died and the others were hurt.

Klein's mother told The Times the car was a vintage vehicle that did not have seat belts. State police handled the investigation.
