An Earlville man was hurt after his truck hit a train Friday afternoon about one mile north of Earlville.

Matthew W. Ruddick, 26, was driving west on North 47th Road, just west of East 13th Road, and crossing an ungated railroad crossing when his truck hit the first two locomotives of the train. Ruddick said he did not see or hear the train. The conductor said all warning devices on the train were activated. No personnel on the train were hurt, but Ruddick was taken by ambulance to Mendota Hospital.
