11 busineses pass alcohol sting

Illinois State Police District 17 Zone 3 officers conducted Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement surveys at various establishments during the evening of Oct. 8 in La Salle County. The purpose of the surveys is to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to people younger than 21.

Eleven locations were surveyed in Tonica, Streator and Grand Ridge.

The following establishments were surveyed and found to be in compliance:
  • Casey"s Store 1402, 306 S. First St., Tonica.
  • Circle K 1252, 1727 N. Bloomington St., Streator.
  • Thornton Oil 365, 1810 N. Bloomington St., Streator.
  • Circle K 1245, 1004 W. Main St., Streator.
  • Pic A Pac, 306 S. Bloomington St., Streator;
  • Circle K 1246, 1211 S. Bloomington St., Streator.
  • Casey"s Store 2326, 1401 E. Main St., Streator.
  • Circle K 1247, 920 E. Main St., Streator.
  • Mann Food & Gas, 602 E. Main St., Streator.
  • Kroger J982, 2399 N. Bloomington St., Streator.
  • Grand Ridge Shell, 125 S. Bloomington St., Grand Ridge.
Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement surveys are funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Safety Administration and are part of the "You Drink and Drive, You Lose" campaign. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
