EARLVILLE — The American Legion Post 549 is collecting stocking stuffers to send to our soldiers and military personnel overseas as a part of Project Santa, a La Salle County-wide program. Donations will be accepted 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, at the Legion, Railroad and Ottawa streets in downtown Earlville. Specific items needed include: Beef jerky and other dried meats; single-serve coffee, soup, ramen noodles, oatmeal, hot chocolate, hot cider, tea, cream, sugar and powdered drink packets (all individually wrapped), protein or granola bars; fruit snacks, gum, hard and gummy candy; lip balm, individual disposable razors, bandages, eye drops, wet wipes (individually-wrapped), zippable bags (quart and gallon sizes); pens, pencils, note pads, stationery, dice and playing cards; Beanie Babies or small, stuffed animals. Cash donations to cover mailing costs also are appreciated. |
