Ottawa
  • A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Tuesday in the 200 block of West Madison Street on complaints of possession of smoking materials by a minor, battery and harassment through electronic communication. The child was released to parents.
  • Shane Sarver, 20, 1338 Dakota Drive, was arrested Wednesday in the 300 block of West Lafayette Street on a La Salle County failure-to-appear warrant for domestic battery and an illegal consumption warrant in Marshall County.
  • William J. Sulken, 39, 301 W. Main St., was arrested Wednesday at his residence on a complaint of domestic battery. He was given a notice to appear.
  • Jodie L. Savage, 17, 304 Midwestern Drive, was cited Thursday at Columbus Street and Madison Drive for curfew violation. She was given a notice to appear.
  • Benjamin Kuykendall, 27, 4223 N. Route 23, Leland, was arrested Wednesday at East Superior and Champlain streets on a Lee County warrant. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.


Streator
  • Blerim Bekiri, 27, 209 E. 12th St., was cited Tuesday in the RV parking lot for speeding, 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.
  • A 14-year-old boy was cited Tuesday at James and Cable streets on a complaint of truancy.
  • Daniel Neronsky, 24, 1514 E. Morrell St., was cited Tuesday at Fuller and Main streets on complaints of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license revoked and no valid registration. He posted an individual bond.
Marseilles
  • James Roberts, 58, of Marseilles, was arrested Wednesday on Chicago Street on a complaint of domestic battery.
Seneca
  • Shawnessy J. McGuire, 19, of Earlville, was cited Saturday for expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was given a notice to appear.
  • Kathy Arellano, 34, of Seneca, was cited Sept. 11 for visitation interference. She was given a notice to appear.
  • Casey T. Rideout, 22, of Streator, was cited Monday for speeding, 73 mph in a 55-mph zone, driving while license suspended and a La Salle County failure-to-appear warrant. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.
  • Tyler McGee, 18, of Seneca, was arrested Tuesday on a failure to appear warrant after turning himself in at Seneca Police Department. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.


La Salle County

  • Gregory C. Tondi, 49, 2359 East 150th Road, Peru, was in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday on East 175 Road, a quarter-mile north of Cedar Point. Tondi lost control of his vehicle on a curve, drove through the fence and struck a tree. He was taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital by Tonica Ambulance. He was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.


State Police
  • Richard M. Baldridge, 36, of Oglesby, was arrested Thursday at Route 178 and North 2853rd Road on a complaint of driving under the influence. He was released on bond.
  • Lawrence N. Majerus, 44, 707 E. Etna Road, Ottawa struck a coyote Thursday while westbound on Interstate 80, west of mile post 82.


Fire calls
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday at 400 E. Washington St. A contractor working on the sprinkler system accidentally activated the alarm.
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to a reported gas leak at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday at 200 W. Stevenson Road. A semitractor hit an above-ground gas regulator. Nicor Gas was contacted.
