Streator - Officials at DSI Corporation, 1110 E. Main St., reported Monday someone spraypainted the side of the building.
- Arthur E. Cook, 37, 306 Sherman St., was cited Monday for battery of a 27-year-old female. He was issued a notice to appear.
- Jerry Leroy Pitte Jr., 46, was arrested Monday at 410 N. Jefferson St. on a complaint of criminal damage to a vehicle. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.
- Robert M. Coley, 32, 1010 Hoyne St., was arrested Monday at 2 Manhattan Drive on a complaint of domestic battery of a 19-year-old female. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.
- Tires were reported slashed Tuesday at 410 N. Everett St. The matter is under investigation.
- Officials at Oakland Park School, 701 S. Sterling St., reported Tuesday the east side of the building was spray painted.
- A transmission, valued at $200, was reported taken out of the back of a pickup Tuesday while parked overnight at 204 S. First Ave.
- Doors were reported kicked in at 905 and 907 N. Otter Creek Road Tuesday. The incident happened in January but the insurance company requires a police report so the owner was alerting police to the incident.
- A vehicle was reported damaged Tuesday while parked at Circle K East.
- A 13-year-old female was cited Tuesday for retail theft at Kroger, 2399 N. Bloomington St.
Ottawa - Joseph J. Lewis, 17, 712 Sanger St., was arrested Tuesday at West Jefferson and Pine streets on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear and possession of smoking material by a minor. He was taken to the county jail.
- Timothy P. Kelley, 20, 108 Prairie St., was cited Wednesday in the 1500 block of Columbus Street for consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was issued a notice to appear.
La Salle County - Michael A. Knudson, 44, 20904 Woodlawn Lane, Red Bluff, Calif., was arrested Wednesday following a single-vehicle accident at the Interstate 80 ramp westbound with East 24th Road in Rutland Township. Knudson was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of .167, leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage, failure to give information after striking other property, failure to report an accident to police, disobeying a stop sign, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. He was taken to the county jail, where he posted bond.
- Ashley N. Vatland, 21, 3735 E. 2150th Road, Serena, collided with a deer Tuesday near North 31st and East 22nd roads in Rutland Township. She was not injured. No citations were issued.
- Timothy E. Stevenson, 28, 503 Montgomery St., Streator, was arrested Wednesday on a complaint of violating an order of protection and on a Marshall County warrant. He was taken to the county jail, pending a bond hearing.
State Police - David Mammano, 29, Ottawa, was arrested Wednesday on Interstate 39 at mile marker 54 on complaints of speeding (120 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone), driving while license revoked, violation of license classification for operating a motorcycle without that classification on his license, improper lane usage and failure to signal. He was taken to La Salle County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.
Fire Calls - Ottawa firefighters were called to Dougherty Manor, 900 Paul St., at 4:04 p.m. Monday after cooking smoke activated an alarm. There were no reports of fire or loss and the alarm was reset.
- Ottawa firefighters were summoned to the Ottawa Post Office, 750 E. Etna Road, at 11:43 p.m. Sunday night following a report of a natural gas odor in the lobby. Investigators found no odor or gas leaks and no one was present inside the lobby area.
- Ottawa firefighters were called to the home of Rich Ciesielski, 1213 W. Lafayette St., to check for a possible problem after a natural gas odor was reported. No leak was found.
- Ottawa firefighters were called to Heritage Woods, 801 E. Etna Road, Sunday at 6:08 a.m. after steam from a hot shower activated an alarm. No fire or loss was reported and the alarm was checked.
- Cooking smoke activated an alarm investigated by Ottawa firefighters Friday in the home of Hugh and Susan Travi, 1542 Jefferson St., at 8:07 p.m. A fan was used to ventilate the house and no fire or loss was reported.
- Ottawa firefighters were called to Silver Spoon, 820 La Salle St., at 9:12 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of natural gas odor. At the scene, officials detected a "slight" odor of sewer gas. No natural gas leak was found.
- Streator firefighters responded at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday to a reported gas odor at 1021 Cleveland St. The resident was advised to call Nicor.
- Streator firefighters responded at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday to a call to 501 W. Frech St., Apt. 1714. A clothes dryer motor had overheated. There was no fire.
- Streator police and firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant house at 905 Charles St. at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday. No other information was available. The matter is under investigation.
