An abandoned house west of Marseilles was destroyed by fire early Tuesday.

Marseilles firefighters responded just before 1 a.m. to the location on the south side of U.S. 6 just west of East 22nd Road, said Marseilles Fire Chief Mick Garrison.

The Naplate and Seneca fire departments sent water tanker trucks to the blaze.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation

"It's a complete loss, but there was nothing inside of it."
