MOOSEHEART, Ill. (AP) — Authorities at a Batavia-area residential school for at-risk children have removed a 17-year-old student charged with three felony sex crimes.

Police say Abraham Mazon of Chicago was arrested Aug. 11 and charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The initial complaint leading to the charges was filed at Mooseheart Child City and School, a 1,000-acre residential and educational facility run by the Loyal Order of Moose.

Neither school officials nor the Kane County sheriff's office would elaborate on the charges, which reportedly stem from a Jan. 26 incident involving a victim younger than 13.

Mazon remained in the Kane County jail Monday on $500,000 bond. His next court date was Wednesday.
