Streator - Jaimie Serrato, 23, 809 E. Hickory St., was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Bloomington Street on a La Salle County warrant for a traffic charge. He was taken to the La Salle County Jail.
- Carlos G.Hernandez, 28, 102 E. Stanton St., Unit 1, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of North Park Street on a complaint of trespass. He was released with a court date.
- James F.Steurer, 58, 68 Carriage Lane, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Sunday at Kroger, 2399 N. Bloomington St., on a complaint of trespass. He was released with a court date.
Ottawa - Corey W. Sidwell, 26, 608 W. Vernon, Princeton, was arrested Monday at 830 Canal St. on complaints of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He posted $100 cash bond.
La Salle County - Ronald I. Hafeman, 16865 University Road, Malta, was driving south on Route 23 near U.S. 52 at 4:06 a.m. Monday when he came upon two dark-colored cows in the road. He said he braked and missed one cow, but hit the other one. Hafeman was not hurt. The cow died. The owner of the cattle told The Times the dead cow was a steer his children were going to show at 4-H competition. He said he doesn't know how the cattle got free, but suspects someone let them out.
- Jerrod M. Crow, 24, 510 Main St., Long Point, was arrested at 4:13 a.m. Monday on complaints of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Crow was arrested after deputies responded to North 14th Road, just east of Streator, where Crow's vehicle had been in a single-vehicle crash. A 13-year-old male relative of Crow's was with him; deputies took him home to his parents. Crow was taken to the La Salle County Jail where he posted bond.
Fire Calls - Ottawa firefighters were called to 1119 4-H Road and Ashbury area Monday at 9:50 a.m. for a downed power service line sparking with smoke, but no fire was reported. AmerenIP crews were called to the scene and, after repairs, power to the home was restored.
- Streator firefighters went at 4:58 p.m. Monday to 313 Goulding St. where wires beneath the seat of a car were arcing. Firefighters disconnected the car's battery, solving the problem.
