State Rep. Kay Hatcher, R-Yorkville, will be a guest at the La Salle County Republican Central Commitee's picnic scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the home of Paul Wood of rural Sheridan.
Print this storyHatcher's district includes all of parts of the northeast La Salle County townships of Miller, Mission and Northville. Hatcher recently was named Legislator of the Year by the Metro West Council of Government, an association of municipalities in Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties. The award was established to honor the legislator whose record demonstrates his or her understanding of the municipal perspective on legisaltive issues and a commitment to supporting the well-being of municipalities. Hatcher was elected to the General Assembly in 2008 to represent the 50th District, which encompasses portions of Kane, Kendall and La Salle Counties. Hatcher"s committee assignments in Springfield include Aging, Transportation, Regulation of Roads and Bridges, Vehicles and Safety, Appropriations for Public Safety and Counties and Townships. Hatcher served as a member of the Kendall County Board and the Oswego School Board and as president of the Kendall County Forest Preserve. At the picnic, hamburgers, bratwurst, buns and condiments will be provided. All families are asked to bring lawn chairs and a dish to pass. Admission will not be charged, but registration is requested, and can be made by calling Pat Wagner at 815-667-4155. To get to Wood's house, take Route 23 north of Interstate 80 about 12 miles and make a right turn at North 42nd Road. After crossing Little Indian Creek, turn right onto 42nd Road. Wood's home, 4191 E. 22nd Road, is a yellow house that is the first homestead on the left. |
