LIVINGSTON COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Print this storyThe Livingston County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary met June 29 at the Legion Hall in Chatsworth. Auxiliary president, Judy Ehlers of the Cullom Unit, introduced Luci Haberkorn, president of the Chatsworth Unit, who welcomed everyone to Chatsworth then introduced Art Scharf of Chatsworth and Gabe and Annette Fairchild of Gibson City, who entertained with guitar and vocal selections. During roll call, each unit president gave a summary of her unit's activities since the March meeting. Eight of the 10 units were represented and 30 members were present, including three from the Long Point Unit. The group will make a contribution to the Special Olympics and the Diana Umdenstock Fund Raiser. Chaplain Ann Legner of the Pontiac Unit and President Ehlers conducted a memorial service. The slate of officers for the 2009 to 2010 year was read and accepted. The officers are Judy Ehlers, president; Diane Taylor, Cullom Unit, vice president; Marsha Haag, Cullom Unit, treasurer; Mary Miles, Flanagan Unit, historian; and Mildred Girard, Cornell Unit, Sgt.-at-arms. They will be installed at the next meeting Friday, Aug. 21, in Saunemin. The Chatsworth Unit served lunch after the closing prayer and singing of "God Bless America." |
