Streator

  • Veronica Sanchez, 26, 1401 N. Otter Creek St., Apt. 12, was arrested Monday at Apt. 81 at the same address on a complaint of battery. She was released with a notice to appear.
Ottawa

  • Stephanie Johnson, 17, 1348 Illinois Ave., was cited Wednesday at West Main and Canal streets for curfew violation and possession of smoking materials. She posted bond and was released.
  • Levelle Danner, 17, Chicago, was cited Wednesday at West Main and Canal streets for curfew violation, possession of smoking materials and possession of marijuana, less than 2.5 grams. He posted bond and was released.
  • Brandon R. Valdez, 24, 209 18th Ave., Naplate, was arrested Monday at Thornton Park on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of resisting arrest. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.
  • Tonya L. Hancock, 29, 108 17th Ave., Naplate, was cited Monday at 403 Norris Drive for driving under the influence. She was also arrested at the Ottawa Police Station on a warrant from Kane County for felony retail theft and attempted obstruction of justice. She posted bond and was released.
  • Amado Mendez, 21, 600 Court St., was cited Monday in the 2700 block of Columbus Street for driving while license suspended and improper lane usage. He posted bond.
  • Michael L. Breese, 21, 622 Webster St., was arrested Tuesday at Columbus Street and Dayton Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence. He was taken to the county jail, where he posted bond and was released.
  • Thomas H. Stringham, 31, 300 E. Norris Drive, was arrested at his residence Tuesday on two Will County warrants, one for failure to pay child support and the other for violating an order of protection. He was taken to the county jail.
Marseilles

  • Allan L. Herbold, 50, Marseilles, was cited Tuesday for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and obstructing a peace officer. He was issued a notice to appear.
  • Robert J. Wagner, 26, Lockport, was arrested Tuesday on two warrants from Will County and on a complaint of obstruction of justice. He was taken to La Salle County Jail.
  • Denise Smith, 44, Ottawa, was arrested Wednesday at Glenwood Resort on a complaint of domestic battery. She was taken to the county jail.
Seneca

  • On June 23, police received a report of burglary to a motor vehicle parked in the 700 block of Forrest Street. A digital camera and radar detector were stolen.
  • Kimberly Boyd, 43, Seneca, was arrested June 16 on a Grundy County warrant and for driving while license suspended. She posted bond and was released.
  • Ernesto Echeverria, 37, Seneca, was arrested June 15 on a complaint of battery. He was issued a notice to appear.
La Salle County

  • Deputies responded to complaints of loud noise at 201 17th Ave., Naplate, early Wednesday morning. Those involved said they would hold the noise down. About a half hour later, deputies were called back to the same location for another disturbance. Craig M. Monroe, 45, who lived at that address, was arrested on complaints of battery and resisting a peace officer. Police reported that Monroe allegedly spit in a female's face and grabbed her by pulling her shirt. While being arrested, he attempted to walk back into his home and pulled away from deputies. Monroe was taken to La Salle County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.
Sandwich
  • Susan J. Maren, 62, 688 Windsor Court, Sycamore, was arrested Wednesday at U.S. 34 and Gletty Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of fraud. She posted bond and was released.
Fire Calls

  • Streator firefighters responded to an illegal burn at 212 E. 12th St. Tuesday.
  • Ottawa firefighters responded to an alarm at 906 Canal St. on Tuesday. Cooking odors set off the alarm. There was no fire.
  • Seneca firefighters and police responded to a fire in an apartment at 426 N. Main St. Monday. The fire started on the upper floor in a chair left in the hallway, which is believed to have been ignited by a cigarette. The fire was quickly extinguished. A police officer had to be taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
