A Sandwich woman was charged Wednesday with bringing drugs into the La Salle County Jail.

Christine M. Baskerville, with addresses of 114 N. Latham and 1680 Hilda Drive, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in a penal institution, which is punishable by probation or prison. Baskerville was serving weekend jail stints when the sheriff's office said they found she had brought prescription pills into the jail.

As of Thursday, the 40-year-old Baskerville was in the county jail, needing $5,000 to make bond.
