Santa and Mrs. Claus make their first appearance of the weekend in Starved Rock Country on Friday with a visit to downtown Ottawa during the city's Festival of Lights parade. More holiday festivities and Santa visits will be in the area this weekend, including Streator's Keeping Christmas Close to Home event Saturday. The festival's lighted parade will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Illinois and Main streets and travel west down Main Street. Utica again will host its Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Village Saturday and Sunday, with a Santa parade to light the Christmas tree at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
