Coaching workshop Monday in Ottawa

A Positive Coaching Alliance Workshop will be held Monday, Sept. 23, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Central Intermediate School at 711 E. McKinley in Ottawa.

The workshop — an interactive atmosphere — is designed to provide coaches techniques on how to pursue not only winning, but teaching life lessons through sports. All coaches from any sport are welcome, though coaches not from sponsor organizations (JJ's Pub, OYFL, Ottawa High, OGFA, Ottawa's two Little Leagues, Ottawa Recreation, Ottawa elementary schools) are asked to donate $10.

To attend, RSVP by 5 p.m. Monday to Chris Saar at 815-482-7839.

"I was fortunate enough to participate in a PCA workshop ... this past June," said Saar. "I was so impressed with the presentation, I researched and with local help and support raised funds to bring a clinic here to Ottawa. I believe every coach from any sport can benefit."
