Thomas J. Jackson, 62, Ottawa, was cited Tuesday at U.S. 6 and Route 71 on complaints of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. Jackson was released on bond.
April L. Nelson, 50, Ottawa, was cited Tuesday at Norris Drive and Guion Street on a complaint of driving while license suspended. Nelson was released on bond.
Briana Majercin, 23, Streator, was arrested at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday at West Frech and Burns streets on a complaint of driving while license suspended and a La Salle County failure to appear warrant for battery. Majercin was taken to the county jail.
Streator police responded at 4:14 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of West Sumner Street for two complaints of individuals entering vehicles. One vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was taken while another reported stolen electronics.
Streator police responded at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Lundy Street for a report of damaged property. The incident remains under investigation.
La Salle County
James Shear, 52, Streator, was arrested at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday on a La Salle County failure to appear warrant for theft. Shear was taken to the county jail needing $300 for release.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 11:41 a.m., 12:03 p.m., 12:22 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. Tuesday to Reddick Mansion, 100 W. Lafayette St., Tuesday for fire alarms with no fire detected. After four calls in one hour, management spoke with the alarm company who disconnected the alarm and would notify the fire department when it's back online.
Streator firefighters responded at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday to 609 N. Everett St. for an alarm set off by cooking smoke.
Streator firefighters responded at noon Wednesday to 307 Fourth Ave. for a report of wires down. Firefighters contacted Mediacom.
