Susan L. Andree

Born: August 10, 2019

Died: May 31, 1961

Sue, SueZ, Tootie, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Friend - no matter what you called her, she was always there for you. Susan L. Andree passed away Saturday, August 10th. We all know she loved a good fight, in fact the entire family did! She always said “Why go to bed angry when you can stay up all night and fight!” She spent the last 3 years fighting, but didn't let that get in the way of living life her way; always with dignity, grace and a smile that could brighten any day.

Born May 31, 1961, she was the daughter of Duane and Carole (Bumgarner) Barschdorf. She was the sister of Gary Barschdorf (Linda), Steve Barschdorf (Lori), and Rick Barschdorf. She didn't have sisters, she had something much more, she had Linda McGurk( Pat) In 1979, she married her high school sweetheart, David Andree. Together they created a wonderful life with 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and another on the way.

Small in stature, but mighty in stance, Sue had a zest for life. Family was just one of Sue's passions. For the past 13 years, SueZ's Linens and Things helped local area brides make their days special. Her business was her creative outlet, and her heart remained in it even when her hands could not. When not tending to family or business needs, she filled her days with activities that were not only fun, but also made the world more beautiful. Together, she and Dave created lasting memories with family and friends on vacations to Lake of the Ozarks. She loved her yard! If not pulling weeds or planting, you might find her relaxing on the deck and sipping glass of wine while gazing at the yard sculptures that she and Dave enjoy so much.

When it came down to it, Sue loved all things in life, especially ketchup! She also leaves behind her most prized possessions... the Roomba; and a family that is sure to never to get their crap together!

Sue spent one of her final weeks at the lake house with Dave, their children and grandchildren. She ensured all the kids all had fun and cleaned up after themselves. Sunset boat rides were mandatory on all trips to the lake, and this one was no different. She captained her family on their last family cruise.

While her weddings, yard, and Lake House showed her labors of love, the most important characteristics of Sue were effortless. She had a lovely soul and a carefree spirit that attracted people like a magnet, even strangers. Anyone that has crossed Sue's path should dress in their favorite party pants, and join us in a celebration of her life. Visitation begins Wednesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator at 4:00 p.m. Last call is at 7:00 p.m. You don't have to go home but you can't stay there. Services will be Thursday at 10:30. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Dwight.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Susan G Komen for the cure for Breast cancer awareness.
