DIXON – A Dixon woman faces multiple misdemeanor charges after being stopped Tuesday for driving her car with her daughters sitting in an inflated pool on the car's roof.
Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, 49, is charged with two counts of endangering the health or life of a child and two counts of reckless conduct. She also was cited for failure to secure a passenger younger than 8, and one younger than 16.
According to a Dixon police news release Tuesday night:
Officers responded to a call of an Audi, northbound on the Peoria Avenue Bridge, with children inside a pool on its roof. The found the car, children on top, on state Route 2 just west of Palmyra Road shortly after 3 p.m.
Yeager told them she drove into town to inflate the pool at a friend's house, and had her daughters ride inside to hold it down.
She posted bond and was released.
