Police blotter 6-11-19

Streator

Streator police responded at 7:23 a.m. Monday to City Park, 200 E. Hickory St., for a report of individuals damaging a gate at the park.

Streator police responded at 1:22 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of North Park Street for a report of a break-in not in progress. The incident remains under investigation.

La Salle County

Alyssa S. Hopps, 28, La Moille, was arrested at 6:56 a.m. Monday in the 4300 block of U.S. 34 on complaints of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. Hopps was traveling westbound on U.S. 34 when she failed to navigate a curve in the road a struck a Morton building and a parked semi-trailer on the property. No injuries were reported. Hopps was released with a court date.

Tyler J. Chismarick, 21, Ottawa, was arrested Monday at East 18th Road north of Interstate 80 in Ottawa on complaints of DUI, failure to report an accident to police, leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Deputies investigated a single-vehicle rollover at 12:41 a.m. Monday in the 1900 block of North 31st Road but found the vehicle abandoned. Wallace EMS assisted with extra lights and thermal imaging that allowed them to locate Chismarick who was attempting to hide, according to police reports. Chismarick refused medical treatment and was later released with a court date.

Shannon M. Grieves, 31, Ottawa, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of North 17th Road on a complaint of domestic battery. Grieves was taken to the county jail.
