WWII veteran Bill Miller, formerly of Oglesby now of Peru, led the Veterans Parade in Peru Saturday. Miller, 93, who flew in B-17s (Flying Fortress) at the end of WWII, has volunteered at the show along with his family since its inception four year ago. "My wife, Mary, and our two sons have been involved with all of the shows from the very start because it is always so much fun and we think it is important. I joined the service because I have always loved this country and I greatly appreciate the recognition that people give us veterans each year during this event. I was one of the lucky ones to come back from the war (unharmed) and it is always emotionally moving to see all the people thanking us vets for the service and sacrifice we all gave to the country."
