A 14-year-old boy was one of two people arrested during a crack cocaine bust Wednesday afternoon in Streator.
The Tri-DENT drug task force, assisted by the La Salle County deputies and Streator police, conducted a buy/bust operation in the 900 block of East Main Street in Streator.
Tri-DENT agents purchased crack cocaine from a 14-year-old boy at about 3:20 p.m., arresting him without incident between Penn and Colorado streets.
About an hour earlier, police also bought crack cocaine from Deandre L. O'Neil, also known as "Nephew," 26, of Chicago, who was arrested on East Kent Street in Streator.
Both of them were charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. O'Neil was taken to La Salle County Jail and the 14-year-old was placed in the La Salle County Juvenile Detention Home. Bond for O'Neil was set at $500,000, needing $50,000 for release.
