Police blotter 3-13-19

Ottawa

Michael Cummings, 49, Gardner, was arrested Tuesday on Tyler Drive on a complaint of no valid driver's license. Cummings was released after posting $150.

Timothy E. Carpenter, 56, Ottawa, was arrested Tuesday at East Norris Drive and Starfire Drive on complaints of driving while license revoked, no insurance and a defective windshield. Carpenter was taken to La Salle County Jail.

Joann J. States, 27, Ottawa, was arrested Tuesday at Huron and Pierce streets on a La Salle County failure to appear in court warrant for a driving while license suspended charge. States was taken to La Salle County Jail.

Streator

A complainant reported a telephone call from someone saying they were from Mediacom claiming he owes money in Iowa. The complainant doesn't have property in Iowa.

A complainant received a phone call said to be from Kingston, Jamaica, asking him to send money for an expensive gift. The complainant didn't send any money.

La Salle County

Paige Whittle, 18, La Salle, was arrested 2:35 p.m. Tuesday at 338 Creve Coeur St. on a La Salle County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Whittle was taken to La Salle County Jail needing $1,000 for release.

DeKalb County

Robert Remy, 28, Earlville, was arrested at Church and Latham streets in Sandwich on a complaint of driving with a revoked license. Remy was taken to DeKalb County Jail.

Fire calls

At 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Streator firefighters responded to 609 N. Everett St. for an alarm set off by burnt food.

Streator firefighters responded to an illegal burn report 8 p.m. Tuesday at 412 River Ave.
